Members of All India Christian Council (AICC), Gujarat on Wednesday staged a dharna in front of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) office in Danapith place protesting civic body’s motion of flattening a Christian graveyard in Sabarmati region in the city.

AMC, on January 26, leveled the cemetery on pretext of cleaning the place, sparking rage amongst Christian communities within the town.

AICC, to protest this motion, held a demonstration outdoors AMC making as well as submitted a memorandum within the make any difference with municipal commissioner Guruprasad Mohapatra, demanding which the land be preserved for a burial floor.
