Gujarat government will expend much more than Rs650 crore over the subsequent two to about three years in a very bid to raise infrastructure in and approximately major tourist centres, a senior federal government official reported.

According to the report, which has been prepared by Gujarat Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation (GITCO), projects such as better roads, drainage network, water supply arrangement, among others need to be undertaken at different locations.A total of 23 tourist locations, including Dwarka, Somnath, Ambaji, Dakor, Saputara, Nal Sarovar, Pavagadh, Gir, Kutch, Modhera, Adalaj, among others, have been covered inside the report.
“These are the most popular tourist places inside the state, and account for 85% of the total tourist inflow,” Mittra mentioned. He stated that the state government’s focus was on creating the necessary physical infrastructure.
“Once the infrastructure is in place, we will be able to attract additional domestic and foreign travelers, and also private investment during the form of hotels and resorts,” he reported. Mittra cited the example of Junagadh, where the number of hotels has over doubled, from 31 to 76, in two several years, which, he explained, was due to increased flow of vacationers.
