From a ‘rented’ presence of greater than eight years, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is finally expanding its reach in Ahmedabad. The bourse had opened its office on rental in 2003, and recently purchased new space due to the office in Ahmedabad. With the investment of Rs5 crore, BSE is opening the 6,000 sq . ft . office in Ambavadi, on Monday.
“We had our first office on rental basis in Taxes area. It a small space with only around 10 people working. Now, we’ve got bought a new space along with the amount of employees raises to over 25,” said director inside Bombay Currency markets (BSE), Anil Maneklal Shah.
BSE would like to increase awareness about investment and may start courses on investment. “At present, were running many courses on stock exchanges-technical, financial or anything else. We’re going to start these courses in Ahmedabad soon,” said Shah.
In addition to training and academics, the Ahmedabad office will likely enhance investors’ awareness. “We get complaints and grievances of investors at our new office. Simultaneously, we would like to aggressively begin investors’ awareness programme in Ahmedabad,” said Shah. Presently, participants of Ahmedabad Currency markets (ASE) are trading at BSE platforms. “The subsidiary of ASE is running BSE’s platform. So, each of the trading individuals ASE usually takes guidance or support through the new office, whenever required,” added Shah.
