Economic Development Unit of the Government of Gujarat has a separate office to facilitate investment in Japan. The move is the result of several meetings between the visiting delegation from Japan, and senior government officials.

“Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Limited and set up an office in iNDEXTb dedicated to assist Japanese companies to invest in Gujarat,” a senior iNDEXTb told ET. Bank of Tokyo will send a formal proposal iNDEXTb, on which the Board has proposed to start work.

Recently, it was also agreed that the Government of Gujarat and the Japan External Trade Organization (Jethro) to create a Japanese industrial area in Ahmedabad to facilitate Japanese investment. Jethro GIDB coordinate with the installation while iNDEXTb facilitate the interaction between the delegations of Japan and Gujarat as well as holding seminars and other promotional events.
