Amdavadis soon more choice and better access to their domestic travel plans. With the increasing number of domestic flyers in Ahmedabad, a private airline, has announced five new domestic flights in winter schedule of Ahmedabad.

No-carrier JetLite Gala has announced five new daily flights to five destinations in Ahmedabad – Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Delhi, Calcutta and Lucknow, which will be operational from November 15, 2011. Coimbatore and Bangalore, Kolkata and Delhi will fly away.

The company will introduce the new Boeing 737-services in its winter schedule and start daily flights between Ahmedabad and Bangalore via Coimbatore.

“With the increased flow of tourist traffic and business, and Ahmedabad as well as a growing demand for connectivity to the Metro and the cities, we are pleased to provide direct routes and additional frequencies to meet the needs of our guests,” Jet Airways commercial director, officer Sudheer Raghavan.

According to Airport Authority of India (AAI) figures, the Ahmedabad airport, the domestic air travel has seen impressive growth. Although flyers home grew by more than 40 percent in the first quarter of this year, has seen an increase of more than 45 percent in July-September over the same period last year. About 3,09,455 passengers on domestic flights increased at Ahmedabad airport, in September this year compared to last year, 2,13,040 leaflets.
