30 MW solar power plant, the largest project of its kind in Asia, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
Solar power plant was set up by Moser Baer Gunthawada Projects (Dalpatpura) village of Banaskantha, about 180 km from Ahmedabad. The company has invested Rs 450 crore to double the solar power plants of 15 MW each.
This is the fourth solar installation to be taken in the state, the other is the Gujarat PowerCorporation is 1-MW, 5 MW Lanco and Azure Power 5 MW.
Officials said Moser Baer had been made in the power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, 30 MW. As for the PPP to reach RS15 per unit of output of the first 12 years, and RS 5 to 13 to 25 years.
In total, the state government has signed PPA 958 MW of solar energy. The coming days should see a number of solar power plants being controlled.
DJ Pandian, principal secretary, energy and petrochemicals department of state government, said they expect about 300 MW solar power generation to be commissioned in the state before December 31.
