Faced with unemployment at over 9 percent, the United States trying to woo high networth individuals (HNIs) in India through its employment-based immigrant visa EB-5.
“Due to a lack of awareness, participation in the eb5 investor visa HNIs in India is low. In the first half of this year, only 40 Indian investors have used the program, compared with 62 in 2010,” Green Card Fund (GCF) Managing Partner Greg Wing said here today.
“About 10,000 eb5 visa program available each year, but so far over 4,200 have been used in a given year by investors in the United States throughout the world,” he said.
GCF is a federal government approved US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regional center EB-5 program. He teamed up with Fox Mandal (FMAS), an Indian board and consulting firm, to educate investors on the program for job creation in America.
As part of a promotional drive in India, together with the FMA, GCF, will organize seminars to educate the city hNIS as Ahmedabad, Surat, Hyderabad and Chennai.
