Rajkot-based Galaxy Group, the leader of BJP in the hands of Kiran Patel admitted undisclosed income of Rs 40 crore near the Department of Income Tax, officials said Tuesday.
IT department has launched a search operation and the seizure of the Group on September 8, which covers 30 offices in Ahmedabad and Rajkot. The Group is owned by institutions engaged in product development and engineering, processed in real estate and film distribution.
“A total of 30 offices in Ahmedabad and Rajkot Group, was applied during which they granted confidential income RS 40 crore,” U.S. sources.
“The operation was Rs 1.50 lakh missing cash and jewelry worth Rs 18.78 lakh seized, and 15 bank lockers belonging to the group have been sealed,” they say.
Moreover, a large number of incriminating documents, aimed at tax evasion by the business entity, were captured, they said.
Patel unsuccessfully contested the 2009 Lok Sabha elections in the constituency in Rajkot.
