Kankaria residents have asked the police to raise the standards of effectiveness quiet area.

It is said that these rules do not allow them to celebrate holidays and family gatherings in the traditional way, causing inconvenience to the public. In response the police have assured the people taking issue with the Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner (AMC), which manages the mound zoo.

The demand was raised at a public meeting in the police-VI in the auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine of LG. The meeting was part of the annual exercise conducted by the city police for an open debate on the functioning of the department and the comments and suggestions for a better fit.

The meeting was attended by politicians, lawyers, doctors, school principals in schools and colleges, community leaders and area residents. Their questions and suggestions were heard by the Commissioner of the Zone VI Deputy Police (DCP), Maninder Singh Pawar, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) BD Vaishnav, and two police inspectors (PI) of each and Maninagar Isanpur police.

Residents demanded that the ban on noise decibel levels in the region are deprived of their freedom to hold family reunions and festivals of music, dancing and singing.
