As students of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A). Make the most of their waste will be visually and hearing impaired children in the country will win out of it
Each month, a letter that was distributed among the students of IIM-A sets a date and place of the note, usually one of the campus dormitories. Students are individually and in groups to submit their papers for old magazines and old new to the room. The exercise is based more than 250 kg of old newsprint that day only.
In another corner of the campus, the spouse of a married student is busy accumulating solid waste from most households to married students living in a Married Students’ Hostel (MSH). Approximately 45 kg of waste such as empty bottles, cans, old clothes piled in a month.
These actions are part of social initiative recently launched by the students of IIM-Post Graduate Programme in Management executives (PGPX). Students are regularly waste Institute. The proceeds from the sale of the waste then be donated to the sense of international NGOs (India), which supports local organizations with the blind and hearing impaired children.
Vikas Guru, 38, a PGPX student who initiated the exercise, said, “We are able to generate around two thousand rupees every month by selling the newspaper to the scrap collector. These amounts are donated to Sense International (India).”
