CCTV Camera project handed over to GNFC

Due to the impossibility of reaching an agreement, even after the trial period of one month, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) digital eyes in the corners of the city likely to help the police keep an eye on the thieves are closed.

Earlier in July, BSNL, a central government-owned company had installed surveillance cameras at strategic locations in town to monitor criminals and other illegal activities. “We have entered into an agreement to install GNFC 130 CCTV cameras throughout the city. While 60 of them have confirmed the location of seats, 70 are mounted on mobile police vehicles,” said the Commissioner.

According to Sinha, the project the most important factor to cancel the contract with BSNL. “In addition, GNFC is a state PSU, making it easy to communicate with them and to help us speed up the process,” he said. The Commissioner also said that the trial of the effectiveness of the CCTV camera GNFC was made during the Rath Yatra in July this year and the purchase decision will be taken soon.

Under the agreement, install and maintain 130 NGTF cameras CCTV at a cost of millions of rupees RS9 for a period of three years. Apart from the installation and maintenance, NGTF also download and store images recorded by these cameras.

Of the 130 cameras, 60 cameras are precision with 2 pixels (MP) resolution mega. These cameras will be installed at major intersections and places of the city. Sinha said that today, only Delhi and Bangalore with 2 MP camera. “We will be the third largest city in India for high-precision camera that can tilt, pan, zoom and magnify,” he said.

In addition to these static cameras, GNFC is also installed 70 cameras, mobile surveillance, the police confirmed the vehicle as PCR vans and vehicles for rapid response teams.
