To simplify and accelerate the process of issuing driving licenses, regional transport Office (RTO), Ahmedabad-stop-shop will open on Thursday.

There will be 18 windows, which make the services as soon as the submission of applications for issue of licenses.

Until now, there were 130 windows in the RTO office and a candidate had to visit at least six windows to complete the process.

But now all these formalities are completed on each of the 18 windows.

JM Bhattt RTO official, said that the applicant should not stand in line to apply for multiple windows and get a driving license. “All the work, the non-application forms, checking documents, payments made by the license is held in a single window,” he said.

Indeed, the RTO is also launching www.sarthi.nic.in site Thursday. This website will facilitate filling the online form of licenses and provide a candidate for a date and time he / she will have to address one of the windows 18 with the documents and application form.

However, people can choose not to apply online and you can go directly to the RTO office in person.

Bhatt said the new system will greatly reduce the processing time to obtain a license.

“First of all, the applicant, if he / she has applied to the network, is a conception of time, when he / she has become an RTO. So there is no need to come early in the morning and wait long hours in a shift .

Secondly, candidates will not have to move from one window to another for each stage of the processing application. This will also reduce the time spent on paperwork, “he said.

RTO agent, who requested anonymity, agreed that the new system will streamline the licensing process and dramatically reduce the time that the candidate has to spend RTO.

“There were 25 to 30 candidates running in Windows before. With the introduction of the ease of online application and single window clearance, these scenes can become history now,” he said.
