In an effort to “empower future generations through the added value of computer literacy,” Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL), a subsidiary of the implementation of Tata Power Project 4000 MW Mundra Ultra Mega Power in Gujarat one launched a unique initiative called “Project Sujaan.”
“Sujaan Project” was implemented by CGPL through an agreement with “Hole-in-the-Wall Education” (Hiwell), a joint venture between NIIT and the International Finance Corporation (part of World Bank Group) to establish, operate and overseeing the evaluation of learning stations for a period of three years.
To create an effective foundation for community development and the backbone of education, an assessment of the community around Mundra power project was carried out. The curriculum has been formulated taking into account the need for computer education of children of school age and level of computer literacy that prevails among the masses and use in your everyday life.
Kiosks “Sujaan Project” launched in the Gujarat government-sponsored “Kanya Kelavani Program” (a state government-sponsored program to enroll their children in formal education.) Learning have been implemented in three schools in three selected villages Tunda knowledge and Vandh Nanabhadia of Mundra block and block Mandvi Kutch district.

Five “learning stations at four schools in the villages in the area of influence will take place.

Evaluating the literacy level of achievement that is, computers, English, mathematics, social sciences and life skills was made.
Monitoring and evaluation of the remote control, testing computer skills, English, mathematics and life skills twice a year to monitor children’s progress will be made.
Finally, a detailed analysis of the impact of a number of children with improved learning outcomes, the acquisition of information technology and awareness of critical issues.
The enthusiasm among students and community acceptance is the culmination of the program that children and their parents have found a new meaning to their lives and educational platform to learn about computers and ultimately leads to excel in their studies.
