Infosys, the country’s second software exporter, has expressed interest in opening a computer center in Gujarat.

“We have yet to get land, the Gujarat government makes a decision, and I’m sure that would look at the possibility of launching center here,” Infosys Chairman and CEO Mentor NR Narayan Murthy here today.

Murthy had come to attend the first convocation of the University of Ahmedabad.

Infosys mentor is expected to meet the Prime Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, and is likely to discuss the company’s plans to create a central government.

“An executive of Infosys met with us on a couple of times to study the possibility of creating a center here,” a senior state official said.

“We do not provide land at concessional rates to anyone,” he added.
