Gujarat has roped to the Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys, NR Narayana Murthy,
to guide a project of international center of excellence near Ahmedabad.
The State Government has begun the process of creating a special purpose vehicle (SPV) – Gujarat Foundation for Entrepreneurship Excellence (GFEE) – an association of equity Rs 5 lakh to 50:50 each of the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (GMDC) and a private company, Gujarat promoting entrepreneurship Venture Foundation (GEVPF) to develop the center.
According to government officials an agreement between the two companies have been blackened and the SPV will be formed in the coming months. “The formation of this company are designed to support innovation and business incubation. A center of excellence will be set up near Ahmedabad to facilitate innovative new era, feed and protect them. GMDC will have a role in the development of this center is expected to arrive on 30-32 acres of land, “said VS Gadhvi, Managing Director, GMDC.
Murthy expressed a desire to lead the project after the Prime Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi asked him to take control center during the meeting yesterday. Murthy, however, the role of the center depends on how long that can be placed in view of his busy schedule.
