Rising prices have hit middle-income group the most. According to a survey by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) has as much as 55% of lower middle class families forced to jump or push their budgets for fruits and vegetables in the prices rise sharply average.
Cities across the nation have contributed to higher prices, Ahmedabad is third after Delhi and Mumbai, which have suffered most. Kolkata and Chennai are the five worst cities on the list.
The survey found that over the past three years, while wages of ordinary people has increased by 10% to 15%, prices of fruits and vegetables increased by 100% to 115%.
In the survey, 86% of respondents said that high prices have made life more difficult. It was found that middle-class families can not budget your monthly household expenses due to increased prices unpredictable.
The situation was experienced by most middle class families across the country. Nearly 52% of employees out of Rs 4000 to Rs 5000 per month on fruit and vegetables. Five years ago, these expenditures were one quarter of what it is today. In addition, 65% of women are worried about unrest in their household budgets. This forced to reorganize their daily menus.
