High Court notice on PIL against encroachment, pollution

Gujarat High Court today issued notice of the government and seven companies, when you hear a public interest litigation (PIL) against the invasion and the discharge of chemical effluents on”gauchar”(grazing) land in the village Sananda Taluka here.

While issuing notices, the bench of Chief Justice Division Mukhopadhaya SJ and JB Pardiwala judge also stated that the dependence of the LIP may Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), one of the respondents in the case, to investigate the alleged contamination of soil and place in the report to the court.

All respondents were asked to submit their answers against the allegations in the notice on July 27

Companies that have had communications Intas Pharmaceutical Ltd, Larsen & Tourbe, Pradip Overseas Limited, Chetan textiles, Omni Dye-chem Exports, Modern Denim and Jay Dinesh Chemicals.

The PIL was filed by Navsarjan confidence of people in the city-Vasna Chacharwadi Sanand, which argued that companies have invaded el”terres”gauchar and chemical effluent is discharged untreated into it causing pollution.

With PIL, trust sought the demolition of illegal structures built by the companies and company managements to stop discharge of sewage på”gauchar”land.
