Six persons, including a 10-year-old girl, died in a road mishap on Modasa-Ahmedabad highway near Ujediya village of Talod talkua in Sabarkantha on Wednesday. The mishap happened when the jeep they were travelling was rammed by a tractor.

The villagers from Dhatlai in Sagwada taluka of Dungarpur district were on their way to Ahmedabad to receive a resident of the village at Ahmedabad International Airport.

According to police, five of the passengers died on the spot while one succumbed to his injuries on the way to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, where he was rushed along with two other injured. The deceased have been identified as Hakshi Damor, 55, Manor Soma Manat, 35, Deva Kalji Dedor, 55, Payal Harish Ghelaji, 10, Ganesh Subhash Damor, 18, Vasat Gedal Bamaniya, 35.
