Western Railway has announced additional trains to beat the summer vacation rush

On an average, about one lakh passengers travel from Ahmedabad daily, and the number increases by around 20-25 per cent during summer vacation. The railways have announced summer special trains for important stations such as Hapa, Indore, Mumbai, Secunderabad, Varanasi and Yeshwantpur. All these trains will pass through Ahmedabad, said an official.

Among these trains is a tri-weekly train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central. The train will leave Ahmedabad every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and will leave Mumbai on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. A weekly special train between Bandra Terminus and Hapa (Jamnagar) has also been introduced. The train will leave Hapa on Wednesdays and Bandra on Thursdays. Also, weekly special trains between Bandra Terminus and Okha will leave Bandra every Wednesday and Okha every Tuesday. A weekly special train between Bandra Terminus and Gandhidham will run on Thursdays.

The Porbandar-Secunderabad weekly specials will leave Porbandar every Monday and Secunderabad every Wednesday. Ahmedabad-Yeshwantpur weekly specials will depart from Ahmadabad on Saturdays and reach Yeshwantpur ( Bangalore) the next day. Similarly, the train will leave Yeshwantpur on Mondays and reach Ahmedabad at 3.10 on Tuesday.
