85,000 crore during Vibrant Gujarat. Reliance Industries will propose Rs50,000 crore in greenfield and brownfield projects, Essar group plans to invest Rs35,000 crore in ports, oil refinery , power plants and water infrastructure projects, said state and company officials.
Essar will invest Rs15,000 crore in expansion of Jamnagar refinery , Rs9,000 crore in expansion of power plants, rs 8,000 crore in ports and Rs3,000 crore in water infrastructure projects, said a state government official.
Reliance group chairman Mukesh Ambani is expected to sign memorandum of understanding with Gujarat government for new super specialty chemicals unit at an investment of Rs10,000 crore at Dahej among other big ticket expansion projects. IPCL has adequate land at its Dahej complex. Proposed super specialty chemical plant on West Coast would cater to the demand in India and overseas.
The group will also pump in close to Rs200 crore for its community relationship activities in education and healthcare. Meanwhile, RIL will set up polytechnic colleges at Jamnagar and Dwarka in Saurashtra region where it is operating world’s largest crude refining set up at a single location. At Dahej, RIL will set a up hospital at an investment of Rs25 crore.
Commenting on the proposed plans of RIL, a top government official stated that Mukesh Ambani who has been attending Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit since 2003, will announce the status of his group’s investment plans announced earlier. Source by TimeofIndia
