Twenty-year old Ahmedabad resident Prashant Gutch (21) from the city was not just excited. He was pleasantly surprised when he checked his CAT-2010 scores on Wednesday. Gutch was one among 19 candidates from across the country with 99.99 percentile in CAT-2010. A total of three candidates scored 99.99 percentile from the state. The other two candidates were from Surat and Vadodara. This year, eight students have scored the highest overall score of 100 percentile in CAT-2010. However, there were no students from Gujarat in this top bracket.
A resident of Isanpurin the city, Gutch said, “The test was easy and I was confident of a good score. However, with the kind of preparation I did, I did not expect to get 99.99 percentile.” Gutch, who recently graduated from Nirma Institute of Technology and is working with a company as a business technology administrator used to prepare for only around five hours a day – during the weekends and holidays. “It seems that the preparation for CAT that I did last year has helped me this year too.” Gutch appeared In CAT-2009, he had scored 98.6 percentile. tnn
His score has earned him calls for interviews from IIM-Ahmedabad, IIM- Calcutta, IIM-Lucknow and IIM-Ranchi.
