Lokesh Gandhi is on cloud nine. He has secured top honours among all aspiring chartered accountants of the city. Lokesh has grabbed the third rank in the national list of successful CA candidates.
Results of the chartered accountants’ final examinations held in November, 2010 and of Common Proficiency Test (CPT) were declared by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on Friday.
Try, try again till you succeed. This old adage is apt for Lokesh Gandhi. For Gandhi this was the third and final attempt. “I had stopped worrying, after missing the mark by a whisker twice. I never expected to rank so high. But,I never lost hope and kept fighting. Finally, my luck changed today.”
Lokesh is among the 11 other students from the city alone who figure among the candidates across the country who have managed to earn a spot in the top 50 ranks. This result is better than that of CA candidates who appeared in the May 2010 exams.
The pass percentage of city-based candidates is 8.68 is the pass percentage, as compared to the all-India result of 14.19 per cent. In May 2010 only 3.41 per cent of the city’s examinees had managed to clear the CA final exams.
Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Western India Regional Council, Ahmedabad branch, Niren Nagri said: “This time Ahmedabad results have improved. Three of Ahmedabad students are in the national top ten ranks – Lokesh is ranked third, Pradip Maheshwari is seventh and Ketan Shah is on the 10th position. Source - The Times of India
