The city Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested two history-sheeters reportedly wanted in several loot and murder cases, in Ahmedabad.
Prakash alias Pintu Tanpure (42), a resident of Somnath Society in Vastral, was arrested from Mahadevanagar for reportedly carrying arms illegally. The police claim to have recovered two countrymade pistols worth Rs 25,000 and six live catridges from him.
The Crime Branch said Prakash was earlier arrested in
2001 for murder and under the Immoral Trafficking Act. He will be in the Crime Branch’s custody till Wednesday. In a separate crackdown, the police arrested Amit alias Raju Chauhan (27), a resident of Manpur village in UP. Amit is wanted in two murder cases of 2006 and 2008. Besides, he had provided refuge to another murder accused Rajvirsinh Gohil, wanted in the Divyank Vaghela murder case. Gohil is also a repeated offender under the Arms Act, the police said, adding that they will question Amit on the Vaghela murder case. Source by Indian Express
