Ahmedabad boy rescued, two kidnappers held

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Police arrested two persons on Friday and recued a seven-year-old boy, who was kidnapped from Ahmedabad, in Dausa. According to a report, Anurag (7), son of one Tejbahadur Ramratan Singh Rajput was kidnapped from near a marriage hall under Ramol police station of Ahmedabad on May 23. A case under Section 364 of the IPC was registered at Ahmedabad police station on May 25.

On May 25, the kidnappers called Anurag's family and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh to be handed over in Jaipur on May 27. Again on May 27, they called the family and directed them to reach Dausa to deliver the ransom. 



Meanwhile, Gujarat police contacted Dausa police. Acting on information, a police team headed by ASP (Dausa) Gopal Singh Rathore launched a search for the kidnappers. The police team saw the kidnappers carrying Anurag on a motorcycle and chased them. The kidnappers threw "chemicals" at the police and tried to escape but were caught near Tiwari hospital and the child was rescued.

SP Dausa, Devendra Singh said that few policemen sustained injuries during the rescue operation but the child was safe. The arrested kidnappers, who are from Bihar, also sustained injuries and were undergoing treatment at a hospital. The child has been handed over to his parents and a case has been registered at Kotwali police station in Dausa and matter is under investigation, the SP added.
