Photo: Sushil Kumar VermaThe Hindu : Business / Companies : Range of Cyber-shot cameras from Sony: “Sony on Wednesday said it was aiming to retain its leadership position in the digital still camera market through its latest range of products that effortlessly blend technology with style. The consumer electronics major has signed Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone as its brand ambassador for its cameras.

“We are aiming to uphold our No.1 position in the digital still camera category, with a target market share of 45 per cent by the end of the current fiscal. To achieve this, we have introduced a complete new range of Cyber-shot cameras that give best photo-imaging experience,” Sony India Managing Director Masaru Tamagawa told journalists here.

In 2009-10, Sony sold over 5.5-lakh cameras, while it is targeting to sell over eight-lakh units in the current fiscal.”
