IMFL worth Rs 19K seized from tea stall

AHMEDABAD: Here is a tea stall where you can unwind with a chilled bottle of beer or can ask for your favourite brand of whisky on the highway.

In a joint opreation of Ahmedabad rural Local Crime Branch (LCB) officials and Detroj police station officials, a tea stall and paan parlour owner was nabbed on the basis of a tip-off on Sunday afternoon.

According to Detroj police station officials, they got a tip-off that Ranjit Solanki, a resident of Ratanpar village, was selling IMFL from his shop. A constable of LCB was sent as a customer who got a bottle of IMFL.

“We then nabbed him and raided his shop from where 46 cans of beer, 96 bottles of 180 ml and 12 bottles of 750 ml of various IMFL brands were found. We are questioning him for the source of his liquor and also about his business in the village and on the highway. As it was a prominent location on the highway, he was doing brisk business,” said a police official.
