The much-awaited time for management students at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has finally knocked their doors as the summer placement process for the first year students enrolled in the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and PGP-Agri Business Management (ABM), 2009-11, began.
The officials preferred to keep mum upon being asked to compare the present scenario with the last years in the wake of receding recession.
Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Barclays remain the regular visitors to frequent the place. The Royal Bank of Scotland appointed more than 10 summer interns for its branches in Hong-Kong, Singapore, New Delhi and London in investment banking profile.
Other investment banks that swarmed the campus were JP Morgan, Nomura, HSBC, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup.
In an official press release of the IIM-A, it claimed that, “Right from day zero of the summer placement process we experienced an enthusiastic response from our regular partners. Most of our students today are highly placed in the fields of investment banking and consulting services”.
Both the Boston Consulting Group and Bain and Co. selected around 3 to 5 students for summer internship programme.
Other companies like AT Kearney, Booz and Co and Arthur D Little are also among other companies to enter the campus this year.
