Ahmedabad: After two days of murky weather caused by cyclone Phyan, Ahmedabad was back to being bright and sunny on Friday morning. But with the sun playing hide and seek again in the afternoon, the minimum temperature remained at 20 degree Celsius while maximum temperature was recorded at 30 degree Celsius.
According to the meteorology department in Ahmedabad, there is likely to be a further dip in the minimum temperature, but the sky remained mainly sunny on Friday.
Director of the met department Kamaljit Ray said that the dip in the temperature was chiefly because of cyclone Phyan, but the city started to get back to the normal temperature on Friday itself.
“The temperature is going back to normal, but in the days to come mercury level is expected to drop further. The minimum temperature usually goes down to around 12-13 degree Celsius in the city during winter, but that is mostly around December,” said Ray.
Now that the impact of cyclone Phyan has weakened, the met department predicts the weather will be mainly sunny in all districts of Gujarat for the next couple of days.
Officials of the met department also said that there was rainfall at isolated places over south Gujarat region, but weather was mainly dry in the rest of the state. On Thursday, night temperatures rose in Kutch and parts of coastal Saurashtra and changed little over rest of the region.
The temperature was appreciably above normal over the region and 17 degree Celsius was the lowest minimum temperature recorded for the region in Amreli.
