JK Lakshmi Cement has begun commercial production on April 11th 2009 at its plant located at Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
The INR 100 crore plant has a production capacity of 0.6 million tonne per annum and it will supplement the company’s existing plant at Sirohi in Rajasthan to take the total capacity of the company to 5 million tonne per annum.
Apart from this, work on the company’s 2.7 million tonne per annum greenfield cement plant at Durg in Chhattisgarh has already been commenced and the plant is slated to be operational by 2011.
