Country Development & Management Services (CDMS), the master franchisee for Carlson’s Country Inns & Suites in India, expects five new hotels to be up and running by end of 2009. These new hotels are expected to open in cities like Ahmedabad, Indore, Amritsar, Gurgaon and Mussoorie. The new addition will take total room inventory under the brand to more than 1,000 by year end. With these five properties, the total number of Country Inn & Suites by Carlson in India will go up to 15.

According to Sanjeev Pahwa, Vice President, CDMS, currently 17 properties are in different stages of development in various parts of India. He informed that apart from the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, CDMS has also signed two Radisson (by Carlson) hotels — one in Greater Noida and the other in Mysore. “We are preferred franchisees for Carlson in India. It is at the individual owner’s discretion to sign up with CDMS for any Carlson brand,” Pahwa stated.

CDMS is a Joint Venture between Country Inns & Suites by Carlson and Chanakya Hotels Ltd. Launched in 1998, CDMS currently manages hotels in locations like Katra, Paradeep, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Haridwar, Ludhiana, Indore, Ahmedabad and Sahibabad.
