In a shameful incident three youth gang raped a mentally challenged girl openly on the road. The incident took place near the prestigious National Institute of Design on Wednesday night. A NID student living nearby informed police who arrested the three.

All the three were drunk and stayed in nearby slums. According to police in the night the trio after consuming liquor were wandering on the road when they saw the girl sitting on footpath outside a small temple.

The three pounced on her and raped her. The girl started shouting and on hearing her screams a student residing in a nearby apartment came out in her balcony. She was shocked to see the incident and immediately informed the police.

The police reached the spot immediately and the three tried to escape. But they were arrested. They have been identified as Umesh Rajubhai Thakore (19), Pravin Mansukhbhai Pagi(21) and a 15 year old youth. The police tried to questioned the girl but she did not even know her name. She has been sent to V S hospital for medical check up.
