Ahmedabad, July 19 (UNI) The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has launched its Ahmedabad Chapter to enable faster and deeper reach of green building concepts to wider sections of stakeholders and to provide a platform for networking at the regional level.
This is the seventh chapter launched by IGBC after Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Speaking at launch yesterday, Gujarat Urban Development Company Limited Managing Director K Srinivas (IAS) underlined the need and importance for green buildings in India and called on the need to work together to usher the green building movement in the state.
Savvy Infrastructure’s director Sameer Sinha, who has been appointed as Chairman of IGBC Ahmedabad Chapter said the Chapter will not only focus on Ahmedabad but also extend to Tier II cities like Baroda, Surat, Rajkot and others.
He said they will sensitise all the stake holders including architects, developers, consultants, corporates and other institutions. It would also interact with the Government and Urban Development Agencies to facilitate adoption of green buildings, he said.
