Bomb disposal and dog squads are being used in some of the stations in Gujarat

The Gujarat state government has received an anonymous letter from militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad. The message threatens to carry out a bomb blast at the kalupur railway station in Ahmadabad. Police have been checking every train passing through the station.
Security has been beefed up across all the railway stations of the state after Gujarat Police received a letter from North Western Railway warning about the possibility of a terror strike on Gujarat Railways. “We received a letter from the North Western Railways Jaipur office saying that the there was a terror threat on railways in Gujarat. We have taken the letter very seriously and increased security at all the railway stations,” Inspector General of Police (Railways) P Patadia said. “We have made elaborate security arrangements at all the railway stations considering the prevalent security situation,” Patadia further said.
Gujarat Railway Police force (GRP) has been deployed in large number on all the railway stations of the state including the Kalupur railway station of Ahmadabad, police official said. The police are conducting extensive checking of passenger goods and personal belongings at all the railway stations before allowing them to board the train, officials said. The police is also keeping tab on the activities of people by the CCTV camera installed at the Kalupur railway station, official added. Bomb disposal and dog squads have also been pressed into service in some of the railway stations, police official added.
