Ahmedabad – A search and seizure operation as launched Tuesday by the income-tax department’s investigation directorate here agaibnst three business groups. Of the three to came under the scanner, two are the city’s prominent builders and developers, said officials. The third group is in share trading and off-market transactions. The search operations are also being carried out at 40 different premises in Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Mehsana and Anand.
About 25 income tax sleuths began their operations with police help. Sources said a large number of incriminating documents have been seized and are now being analysed.
