MUMBAI: Gulf-based budget air-carrier, Air Arabia, ferried 2.46 lakh passengers between Sharjah and India, in the first quarter of 2008, up 43 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
The airline carried a total of 2,46,296 passengers, against 1,72,246 passengers which it flew during the same quarter a year ago, an Air Arabia release stated here today.
The airline also recorded a 94 per cent average load- factor (passengers carried in proportion to the available seats) on all its 11 destinations in India.
The airline at present operates across 11 destinations in India Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bangalore, Coimbatore and Kozhikode.
