Ahmedabad-based Frequent Individual Traveller (FIT) specialist, Pathfinders Holidays Pvt. Ltd., is now working on a strategic plan to strengthen its presence in the Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) segment. According to Mahendra Vakharia, Director, Pathfinders Holidays Pvt. Ltd., the company will start a dedicated branch office at Goregaon, Mumbai, in September, 2008 to cater to its MICE clientele.
“At present, the FIT segment accounts for 95 per cent of the company’s total business. But with the growing demand in the MICE sector, especially in the metros, we are now looking to focus on MICE as well. And, since Mumbai is the commercial capital of India, we plan to open a dedicated office in the city by September, 2008, for dealing with our MICE operations,” offered Vakharia. Apart from that, the company also plans to venture into medical tourism by mid-2009.
At present, the company is focussing on promoting South America as a high-end tourist destination for the coming summer, along with Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Scandinavia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Scotland, Ireland, East Europe, among others. Currently, the company is a certified Aussie specialist and Kiwi specialist agency and expects receive similar certifications from Switzerland and South Africa by April, 2008.
