In an obvious attempt
to strengthen its off line presence naukri.com has started holding job
fares. The new strategy is to begin from Ahmedabad with a two day fair
starting today. This is to be followed by similar fairs in Pune and
other cities.

promoter and COO of the parent company said demand for the right
candidates has increased a lot in the recent past. At the fair the
companies can get right candidates while the job seekers have
opportunity to find employer directly.
To a question
about choice of Ahmedabad to start the new initiative, he said that
Gujarat was quite responsive from the beginning and with rapid growth
it had both more jobs and more jobseekers. He said that there were 4.5
jobseekers registered with naukri.com in Gujarat of which 2.7 lakh were
from Ahmedabad alone.
