Ahmedabad: – The Gujarat police today filed a chargesheet in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh, fake encounter case against 13 police officials including three IPS officers.

The 700-page chargesheet filed in the Metropolitan Court named former DIG DG Vanzara, Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Pandian and Alwar SP Dinesh Kumar amongst others. All the three officers are currently under suspension.

Vanzara and Pandian were part of a team that reportedly carried out the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin. They have also been accused of killing Sohrabuddin’s wife, Kausar Bi.

Some other lower-ranked cops of Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad and Rajasthan Special Task Force have also been arrested, for their alleged involvement in the case.

Sheikh was reportedly gunned down on November 26, 2005 after being branded a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant by the Gujarat Police, allegedly trying to hatch a conspiracy to kill Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
